Random thoughts

Im sorry I haven't posted in a while...I guess I was a little lazy as well as not much to write about! So, just a bunch of random things that have been going on the last two weeks.
To start off with, Steve just left this afternoon for a business trip to the corporate headquarters in St. Louis. :( He will be back Tuesday night and I miss him already. I am soooooo glad he hardly ever has to travel, I don't think I could take it!! He only travels once or twice a year for the most part. So, its just me and the girls for a few days!

On that note, we had the most horrible thunderstorms last night I think I have ever experienced in my life!! I was up half of the night, it was just too loud to sleep! However, my husband and little Taylor seemed to have no problem sleeping through it.... I have no idea how!!! Mackenzie of course was bolting down the stairs at the first sound of thunder ( I knew she would and was already out of bed into the hall to greet her as she leapt into my arms!!) She couldnt sleep through it either, so we cuddled up together and talked in bed ..... it was kind of nice!!!
So then Im watching the weather and the forecast for Monday is more of these severe thunderstorms with thunder, lightning, hail, heavy rain, strong winds, and a chance of tornadoes! GREAT!! Id much rather have two feet of snow over these kind of storms, and of course Steve is gone!! I would feel much more at ease if he was home with this big storm!!!
So this morning, when we were talking about the storm, Mackenzie says "it was a dark and stormy night so that's why I came in to cuddle with you guys" How can you resist that??

Today, Mackenzie went to the grocery store with me while Steve stayed with Taylor. She was sooooo well behaved (we have come a long way!!) and helped me pick out everything we needed on our list. Well, she had insisted on bringing her purse to the store and low and behold she wanted to pay for the groceries! She said mommy Ill pay for them and gave the lady her pretend credit card..........how cute is that!!!! The checkout lady seemed pretty amused!!

Mackenzies bedtime routine consists of two bedtime stories which she chooses and we read to her. Well, the last week or two, she still picks the stories, but she reads to us!!! The amazing thing is, that she has prbably 10-15 books we rotate through and she has most of the memorized. Some of them verbatum....its amazing to me how that little mind works.

I have noticed in the past few months just how grown up she is, it is like talking to an adult sometimes. She is developing into quite a young lady and is for the most part becoming a great big sister!!! We are so proud of how she is growing up and her great little personality! She is such a great helper!!

Okay, as a little girl I have been told I would do anything not to sleep in my bed at night.....Hmmm sounds like Mackenzie. Well, I have seen many pictures of myself asleep in my doorway on the floor just so I could be closer to my mom and dad. Guess who is asleep on the floor in her doorway for night number 2??? Yep, Mackenzie!! Ill be carrying her back to bed soon!!

Onto Taylor....she is getting her fifth tooth!!! She has been drooling up a storm the last few weeks and today I noticed a tooth popped through on top to the left of her other two teeth! I cant remember, but dont they usually get more bottom teeth first? Who knows, but her little teeth are so cute!!
She is walking all over these days, following her sister around and babbling away. She loves to blow kisses and gives the best kisses ever, with smooching sounds and everything!! She waves goodbye and hi, her favorite word is not "NO" but "NAAA" which means no. She walks to the door when we say its time to go bye-bye and points either to the pantry or refigerator if she is hungry or thirsty and wont give in until you get her something!!!
She is still my sleeping angel............ I love it!!!
My beauties are asleep so Im going to veg out on the couch for the evening and finish up Taylor's first year of her baby book!!!
