Yes, I am aware that I said I would update again as soon as Mackenzie and I got back from California! We have been back, lets see.... 11 days ago and I just don't know where the time has gone!!!! I will try to remember what Ive been wanting to write about!!
** I hope Santa has money is his budget to buy the Hennagin's a laptop as then I would have so much more time to update blog, play around with pictures, etc! For those of you who don't know, our computer is upstairs away from everyone and now that Mackenzie is home by noon every day, I only get one hour during the day for peace and quiet so unfortunately, computer time is on the back burner!
**A 5 year old's love life......... today Mackenzie came home with a little boys phone number from her class (Brian) he actually wrote himself his name and phone number, gave it to Mackenzie and told her to have her mom call his mom for a playdate with his boy toys!!!!!! It was soo hard to keep a straight face!! She then told me she gave her number to Nathan!!! Is this supposed to be happening at 5????
Also.......last Saturday we were at a friend's house and Mackenzie and Cole were laying down next to each other watching a movie. Cole proceeded to lean over on her shoulder and ask her if she would marry him??!! She said "oh, sure Cole". We told them to get back to us in 25 years!!
**Taylor is a riot as always.........she continually makes us all laugh!! She is still working on her sleeping arrangements, though it is getting better. We have moved the crib/toddler bed out of the room and moved in Mackenzie's old toddler bed, which is like 1 foot off of the floor. She is sleeping in it for naps, and will sleep in it at bedtime after she falls asleep on the floor by her door and we move her before we go to bed! She is also working on potty training. We have foregone the panties for now and are using pull ups......not such a great thing as she gets lazy, but I just couldn't take washing poop out of panties another day!!! We will get back on the bandwagon eventually. I have decided to wait and send her to preschool next fall rather than after her birthday in January!
** California was wonderful!!!! It was sooo great to see Tracy and spend time with her.......we hadnt seen each other since a year ago, February. Hailey is gorgeous and such a sweet baby (she was 6 weeks old when we were there) I definitely got my newborn fix and dont see another one in the cars for us! Mackenzie did great with her and it was really nice to spend some one on one time with her. She and I had fun together and she was a perfect angel almost the whole time!! We were able to go spend a day/night with my brother and Corinne as well. It was nice to hang out and see their house as well as check out the town where I grew up. We had a relaxing time with no obligations, though we did miss Steve and Taylor.
Oma watched Taylor for three days and did a WONDERFUL job keeping up with a busy two year old. She did have to learn not to wear herself out and let Taylor occupy herself some of the time. Steve also really enjoyed some bonding time with her on the weekend and at bedtime. I laughed at part of their day on Saturday as he took her to Denny's for breakfast and McDonalds for dinner!!! That's what happens when moms away, but quite allright with me :)
** We came back from CA with summer weather......in the upper 80's and 90's. I couldn't bring myself to decorate for fall. Well.........as of Tuesday, the temps have dropped into the upper 40's, low 50's so it definitely feels like Fall. I love the crisp, cool air and the changing of the leaves. I finally decorated the house a bit yesterday (Taylor was too cute as she was helping me, she kept saying she loves halloween and she loves pumpkins!!) Today I put a nice warm hearty stew in the crockpot for dinner tonight......mmm!!!
**I have been so diligent about working out since school started back up as well. It feels good to getting back into shape (cant remember the last time I was :)) I have been going to cardio and strength classes for 1 1/2 hours on Monday and Wednesday
mornings and then either going to a running class or doing my own cardio on Fridays. (some of the moms in our neighborhood walk on Fridays and then stop and have a startbucks's) I have a couple of friends that are taking these classes as well, so it helps to keep me motivated. I have been still dieting for the most part, so am losing weight slowly, but also gaining muscle tone, so my clothes are fitting much better. I am 1 -2 sizes down from where I was when we moved here!!!!
**Activity wise....Mackenzie is loving school still!!! She has made a close friend, Nikki, whom she talks about every day!! I am volunteering for some things at her school and its quite fun!!! I am also co-leading a bible study through our church with 3 other women. We are doing a book called The Power of A Positive Mom and I highly recommend that every mother reads it and Ive only just started the book!! Taylor is doing Kindermusik still and enjoying that. I am thinking of starting her back in Gymnastics as the girl loves to twirl and tumble!!! Mackenzie is also doing Kindermusik and has made a new friend there, Madeline. She has one soccer game left this season on Saturday, and then she is going to take Gymnastics again with her friend Sidney.
**That's all I can think of for now, I will work on pictures now. I have 20 minutes until I have to wake the girls to take Oma to the doctor.
