VBS

We survived our week of Vacation Bible School........yippee! We all had a great time. Mackenzie did really well with the 1st and 2nd grade group, and Taylor was in the preschool group. I always volunteer, and helped with Taylor's group this year. Next year I will be helping with Mackenzie's age group. The first two days Taylor was quite shy and clingy to me, but she opened up so much by the end of the week!! One of the stations we go to is story time, and there is a woman that tells a few silly jokes to the kids. Well, on the last day, the kids get to tell the jokes. I'm sure you can imagine what preschoolers come up with.......quite amusing. Taylor is the jokester in our house.......she is always coming up with jokes and thinks she is quite funny (which she is most of the time!!) So, when it came time to tell jokes, Taylor was raising her hand so high and was so outgoing. This was her joke "Why did the juice travel the road? To get his juice" Isnt she just the comedian!
It was cute to hear the girls' conversations about VBS this week. Mackenzie would explain to Taylor what she learned, and Taylor would give her version and sing some of the songs we learned. Our theme was power lab, and each day we learned a point "Jesus gives us the power to be.........." thankful, helpful, brave, live forever, and tell others about jesus. Taylor was cute about telling Steve each day what these were!!
The week was tiring though......amazing when you are out of your schedule, how hard it is to get up and dressed and out of the house at 830am!!

Mackenzie also had t-ball Monday and Friday.....she likes playing with her friend Lindsay. Taylor has a little friend she knows from the Y that she likes to play with while Mackenzie is playing.

We got some exciting news as well...........my brother and Corinne are coming for a visit next weekend!!!!! Blake has to go to Washington DC for work, and will be done on Friday, and then has to be back there on Tues or Wed. So, rather than going all the way back to Calif. he is coming to see us!!! Then, he called and said that Corinne is coming too!! We havent seen her in a while, so are looking forward to hanging out with both of them. The girls are counting down the days!!! They usually come out for Christmas or Thanksgiving (its Christmas this year!!) ....but it will be nice to have them here in the summer, so we can enjoy the outdoors!!

Other than that.....Steve and I are going up to Hudson this afternoon to see Andrew and Daniela and go to a humane society benefit wine tasting. Should be a good time!!

This next week is going to fly by as is the summer!! I cant believe July is almost over!!! Speaking of which, Mackenzie and I have been working on her birthday party... we have decided on a spa party in your pajamas. (She had wanted a sleepover, but most of her friends are not ready for that) so we decided on breakfast in your pj's in the morning, and then decided to make it a spa party too!!! We are inviting 8 girls, plus my niece Courtney, should be fun!!!!
